Delete the partitions and restart that with the PC. ~

if this is at all possible the best place to start is to ask on-line of the manuf'r of the external if this is possible to wipe the drive and re-format for xp ....

have you tried just plugging it in and seeing if it works? I switch back and forth between my pc and mac with my external harddrive all the time and it works great
