How can I recreate that feeling without the being in love part?

Because love is a drug. At first you're apprehensive about going forward (like drugs), but then after you do take them, you change your mind and end up realizing that it's good (like drugs) until finally you realize that love stinks and you come crashing down from the top of the world and fall flat on your lovestruck little face (like drugs.)

God, I'm bitter.

(All references to drugs are purely speculative).

(I promise.)

Those wonderful "floating" feelings you get when you first fall in love are an actual chemical reaction in your body from the hormone "Phenethylamine" (PEA). It is sometimes called the "love" hormone. Unfortunately, the affects only last for a maximum of 2 years which is why relationships actually become "work" instead of just crazy love that overlooks all problems and/or dysfunction in many relationships. This is when "true love" must step in and be willing to make changes and sacrifice to make a relationship healthy and lasting.

Wouldn't it be great if we could bottle and sell this stuff ~ it would be a BEST seller! =) Believe it or not chocolate is loaded with PEA ... for awhile they tried to sell it as a "replacement" for love ... although it's true ... chocolate is rich PEA's ... it is absorbed by other hormones too quickly once in the body, to have any real affect! BUMMER! And to think .. for awhile there we really thought there was going to be the ULTIMATE excuse to eat chocolate all day long! Darn!

Hey ... good thing they now say chocolate is good for the heart, huh?

Cheers! =)

P.S. You could just fall in love every 2 years and then you'd be set .... oh wait ... that won't work ~ you're not a man! LOL

Despite my little experience and luck in love, I think I know what you mean. When I'm in a happy relationship, I feel as if I am being shielded by a glow of happiness and warmth and want.

And I'm sorry to report that it is pretty impossible to recreate this one-of-a-kind feeling. :/

I have not had someone in a long time but I do know the feeling I wish I knew if only you knew the way I feel. I would have used the method a long time ago.

Put your energy into something you feel really passionate about, maybe a hobby of some sort.
You'll take all of your energy you would use to love and put it into a love for something else. Good luck!

When you find someone who you "bond" with... who gets you, who treats you the way you ought to be treated... perhaps not love, but certainly the euphoria of being treated in a good way...that should go a long way to achieving that "feeling"...

report back to me on how it's working
