Nah, if they were, *anyone* would eventually be able to figure out how to hack the system and re-program them.

And one of the consequences of that would be that psychology and hypnosis would both be much *much* higher percentage endeavors--much more successful, much more often--than what they really are in the real world. And....we wouldn't have to resort to behavioral, "tough love", types of tactics that are no carrot and all stick when real psychology and hypnosis fail.

Seriously. I've had more than a passing interest in psychology courtesy of my emotional issues for years, and I've had more than a passing interest in hypnosis since childhood. Being a geeky kid and a science fiction fan growing up in the late 1970s meant I wanted to learn *two things* before I died:

--that Vulcan Neck Pinch, and

--that Jedi Mind Trick.

And the sad news is, neither one of these methods actually exist in reality. It takes some work and skill to use the carotid artery in a chokehold to knock someone out, and.....hypnosis is the polar opposite of the Jedi Mind Trick actually.

I've tried. Really. I've had some successes but for the most part, you can't hack and reprogram *most* folks as if they were robots. At best you can screen people and *find* the select few folks who *can* be swayed by you, that you do share common interests with, and you can *then* give them what they want so well they will obey you to get more of it.

And that is about it. And that works maybe 20-40% of the time depending on how well your methods work.
