Where did this "Alert" come from... an email ? a pop up ?
If you scanned your system, chances are you are probably not infected. But.... also keep in mind that anti virus are not the best programs to use for worms, malware, trojans and spyware. You might want to scan with an anti-spyware program....
The one I recommend is the X-Cleaner Micro
The X-Cleaner Micro Edition online Scanner Powered by ActiveX found here :http://www.spywareguide.com/onlinescan.php
The Active X download will pop up in your yellow information bar, download it and install it. If the scanner doesn't pop up right away, click once more on the xcleaner picture on the website, that usually jump starts it.
*NOTE* The program is in the process between updates, so you may get a Update warning, just click the OK button. The scanner still works...
Remove what suspicious programs it finds.

I would presume that if Yahoo said he got a worm that it was in an email attachment that he got and Yahoo's virus scanner ran on it before he downloaded it. The question would be did he download it and did he open it? Ask to see the email that it came in on. There is a good chance that nothing was downloaded. The other question would be what antivirus you are using? Check out AVG (you can get it from download.com) It does a good job.

It depends on your Software go to there site and run the scan, if nothing shows up don't forget some folks highjack your IP and then send syuff out using your IP and you can get alerts from Mail programs saying you are sending out trojans and viruses..
Not all Virus Programs can detect Worms.

if u got somethin high like norton antivirus or McAfee or Trend Micro Pc-Cillin. i know those detect worms. look through the properties (usually scanning properties) and it will tell you if your virus scan detects worms. somebody may have been trying to send you a worm through a yahoo! email or something.

there is a chance that you have a worm that the virus scans did not pick up. Log onto Spywareinfo.com and they will be able to help you diagnose your computer and fix it if needed for free.

becarful with those alerts you get from things like yahoo, they can be fake and worms themselves.
what virus protect do you use? if its yahoo's its CA for computer and norton for email, both are not too good.
try uninstalling them and got to avast.com and try the one they have it will do a "full boot scan" if you download and install the home edition. its a pretty goo freeware choice with highest rating from download.com and good luck!
