Halliburton has made a killing, as have Big Oil companies, and I am sure the Saudis are loving *their* free ride too.

And as for Afghanistan, well, the Taliban are still around over there and still trying to take control in the countryside where they can. Oh, and let's not forget...

Osama bin Laden STILL LIVES.

Could things be worse? Yep. Bush could have died, Cheney could have made himself Dictator for Life. And at least the hard-right people on the Supreme Court are still *old farts* who could die any day and *set the rest of us free*, mind you....at least the worst ones of the bunch aren't *Young*.

But for the most part....we've squandered a LOT of good will and a lot MORE good opportunities, and for what? So a handful of well-placed elites can make *even more money* than what they lost during the New Economy of the late 1990s.

It's sad. It's disgusting. I don't even have a country or a society to call my own anymore, because I really *can't* trust up to half of the population at any given moment to *think* worth a damn anymore. At any given time, *half* of us are too busy obsessing over _American Idol_ or Fox News to really *care* that we've lost New Orleans and that *nobody* is keeping their post-Katrina promises here. No one, not Bush, not Congress, not Homeland Security, *nobody*.

And this is the tip of the freaking iceberg folks. I could and have gone on at length here on Answers about the rest, and you know what?

I'm tired. I'm not doing it again tonight. I have a Profile, and my Best Answers are on a separate list, for a reason. Look at my Best Answers under Psychology, Mental Health, and Politics (and/or General--Society & Culture) sometime.

I'm sorry. But just from my humble and limited point of view at the bottom of our societal food chain, as someone who is dirt poor and has issues, it really looks like we haven't done anything at all well, correctly, or even competently.

But it's all been "right", I can guarantee that. So much so things are beginning to look like a police state at my end.

I have something to say but I'm sure I'll get many thumbs down:

till this day there is no one proof who did the 9/11 thing, and since then America has increased it's internal security and sent the troops to Iraq to invade it,, what is so obvious is that Bush has planed the 9/11,, he killed many Innocent Arabs and non Arabs,, just to have the excuse of the moves that followed that day, he has a problem with Saddam cause Saddam has took the Dignity of his Father and he had the chance to take it back and that's what he did plus he needed a city full of Oil and natural resources so he he hit 2 birds with one stone (took Iraq, took his Father's dignity back). And After that he took Iraq which is Obvious that he is not leaving Iraq for ever he Started giving trouble to Syria to take the second powerful Arabian country in the Middle east.. so he also killed Hariri to make Lebanon and Syria fight again set each other then he comes to "put peace" between them, than invade Syria too.

Freed Afghanistan. Kept an unknown number of Americans alive by foiling terrorist plots. Helped the intelligence communities of several countries do the same. Helped confine the warfare to a few areas globally. Before there were bombings throughout the world, wherever Muslims lived they attacked their neighbors. I'm not sure what the point of your question is, but make no mistake, we are in world war 3. Our enemy isn't a nation this time, it's an ideology whose sole purpose is the annihilation of democracy and freedom. They believe it's us or them, therefore, it is.

The number of uneducated, illiterate people in America was getting to high. So promise them an education when joining the military, build strength and invade a couple countries. Like cutting off a few pedals to improve a rose.

I agree with alskater01, and as a Muslim who was in Palestine from 2002-2006, I think they did every thing they killed so much people helped the Jew's to kill us thats why I hate America and everyone in it I don't know how you Americans lived your hole lives as Catholics and Christians,I'm only 13 and I know better Islam is the best and it's so right.

nothing, just killing our soldiers thinking "we can stop terrorism" you cant stop it bush you idiot it can only be delayed. we shouldnt invade country killing people, we need to just defend our terratory if any one tries to invade. events like 9/11 you will never be able to stop if the terrorist are already in the us.
