The growing imminence of natural disaster or terrorism accentuates evacuation as a possibility for 400 million Americans, Australians and British. I keep an emergency kit that will support two people for one month in my car's trunk. In the house I stock enough water and food stuff for two people to last six weeks. Better to have it ready and not need it, than to need it and not have it ready.
