can i use a dvd recorder to view dvd movies?

i know i can record with it obviously but my question is do I still need to have a separate dvd player or will i be able to view dvds on a dvd recorder

naturally it would work as a dvd player to but u can play only those normal dvds i guess u r aslo asking the same
and not about the blu ray dvd or hd dvd's they need special dvd players

Yes you will be able to watch DVD movies on your DVD recorder. You will not have to get a separate DVD player. DVD recorders can play as well as record.
