I mean, whenever I answer a question with some negativity or I'm what you call brutally honest, someone always gets hurt and has to insult me back for it? I am not usually here at polls and surveys, so this is not the section i'm talking about. It's usually the society and culture (general) section. Why? I mean, I guess it's like that question I answered a couple days ago.

1. People like to put people down to bring themself up.
2. They were raised to be closed minded...or their role models/parents were such.
3. Society teaches it (so yes, partially right on that department).
4. They surround themselves with people who have negetive influence.
Either way, I feel you on ur question. People are closed minded and I'm just not that kinda person. I hope that i can teach others that tolerance and openminded ness is really the way to go someday, its hard though. People go by what they know.

My personal opinion is that it's how one was raised. If you're constantly barraged with negative, narrow-minded attitudes and opinions, chances are that is the mindset you will acquire.
Once, people are "of age" they do have the opportunity to choose to look at things in a different way, but that upbringing is very hard to break.

because you might seriously be hurting somebody's feelings. be honest, but not brutally. especially about subjects they're probably sensitive about! you're not helping their esteem!
