really not much they can do with Bush's veto power. they talked and talked about uniting the parties and working together, but had problems from the get go within their own party. Pelosi backed Murtha to be Majority leader and the Dems voted for Hoyer. She was unhappy and to be honest as a dem/lib myself, was not happy to see that considering they pumped up unification. They haven't done enough about what they preached so heavily about and that really is the bottom line, and the blaming has to stop. Actions is what means something, changing means something, blaming gets nothing done.

why would this congress want to do anything? better to toss over a few unreasonable pieces of symbolic legislation and let the minority block it or the lame duck veto it. then complain about 'obstructionism'. and by the way, it's nothing to do with dem/rep parties. it's just an age old tactic that is always used on sitting lame ducks by opposition majority party.

because they cant do anything except stop bush murder campaign. they don't have enough votes in the house of senate to override a pres veto, so they can not pass any bills of their own, they can only stop his quackery.
