Looking to enter into the alternative medical field and would like to do an apprenticeship. I don't have experience or a degree in a related field, but thought doing an apprenticeship would be a good way to get into the field. Thoughts on this?

when you mention alternative medicine the first thing that comes to my mind is herbs. I recommend checking out American Herbal Academy online. Mirah Mc Cain has several courses and her school is the only one that is approved by the US to grant a certification by mail for a course on Nautropathic doctrine, aromatherapy, herbalist, acupuncture, reflexology, flower essence and well...the list goes on and on. This way you can decide if it's the way you want to go without spending alot of money and time freviouly. Best of luck!
PS: you can do alot of research online about herbs and etc. so you can start there. Pick a favorite herb, mine is Dandelion and that's pretty much were I got started a long time ago. Besides, the information you learn you will always use and it's easy to remember.

There are many schools that you can look into as far as your schooling goes, but for an apprenticeship I don't really know of any unless you are already in school and you set it up through them. I am in the same boat right now, but I have one degree and I am working toward a doctorate in natural health. I couldn't find any apprenticeships, but I am looking for a job. I think that any experience will benefit you, even if it is working at a natural pharmacy as a cashier. Since you say that you do not have any schooling in the field you may want to consider taking a few courses. Check out Clayton College of natural health. There are many different programs and certificates that you can receive through them. I highly recommend them to anyone interested in alternative medicine. ccnh.edu is their website. Good luck!

Wow, it's hard to find sources for apprenticeships in the US. We used to have apprenticeships in acupuncture, but now that training is not accepted for most licensing.

You would almost have to hook up with a healer in you community, but I'm trying to think of any therapies that you can practice anymore without formal schooling. Maybe Western herbalism, but those of us who have been herbalists for 20 years or more remember the 80's when herbalists were getting thrown in jail for practicing medicine without a license. You definitely can't "touch" anyone without some kind of certificate or license in most states.

Here is a great site with all types of alternative healing training; maybe there is some type of apprenticeship program:

Liberals see no connection between out of control spending on a bloated government, and the government's dire financial distress. Liberalism really and truly is a mental disorder, characterized by a tendency to fixate on the pursuit of a desired goal while remaining completely unaware of the adverse effects this pursuit is having. Liberalism is the mindset of a small child who chases a ball out into traffic on a busy street. They have absolutely no awareness of the severe dangers of what they are doing. All they can think is "Chase the ball, chase the ball, chase the ball, chase the BEEEEEEPPPP thud...." That's what's happening to the USA right now.
