December is the cheapest time of the year, specifically December 9th until the 28th this year.

After the NFR(National Finals Rodeo) up until the weekend before New Years is the slowest time of the year in LV, every year.

The other generally slower times of the year to go are from Memorial Day until Labor Day and then again from November 1st until the end of February.

The LVA site also uses travelaxe to search for the best hotel rates.

This is one of the best sites to compare LV room rates

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. We just got home from a month long stay(6/4 - 7/5) - We go to LV every December, last year we stayed at the Orleans for 9 nights at $25, and yes that included the weekend. We took comp nights from other hotel/casinos to fill out our trip(12/5 - 12/19) - We already have next December booked at the Gold Coast(12/16 - 12/28) $20 for Sun/Thur nights & $32 for Fri/Sat - We are staying through NY's on 4 comp nights.

The thing is you never know when a super deal for December is going to pop up, the best thing to do is book a good deal then keep searching for that super deal. We have stayed for as little as $15 per night(10 nights including Fri/Sat) at the Orleans(Dec 04)

There is no specific month anymore because of all the conventions. It used to be that December was a great deal. Now Las Vegas Casinos slap up Christmas trees and garland all over and play Christmas music so that is out, too. The best thing you can do for the cheapest deal is to stay downtown during the week. Once you get to Friday, Saturday and sometimes Sunday nights, they really raise the rates. Stay downtown and take the city bus ($2 or so fare each) back and forth to the strip.

There is an off season. June and July. The heat is damn near unbearable so you tend to spend more time inside. The pools are packed during the summer also. Kayak.com will search for the lowest prices for you. Sunday-Thursday will always be cheaper.
