One of my friends won't try anything new. She doesn't eat mudcake, apple pie or any pie with fruit in it, any seafood or pork. She doesn't eat sea food because she said she had fish when she was really little and got sick. She was probably already sick before though.

Another friend of mine saw me eating oysters and wanted to try one even though she said they look gross and she nearly vomitted but at least she tried!!

Even if a food I dislike is in a meal, I'll try it again just to make sure. My theory is what if you start liking them and they're really nice - you are just losing out if you don't try new things because it minimises the amount of food you can eat. You could be surprised.

Do you try new foods or are you sure of what you won't eat.

anoldmick - she didn't get really really sick from it. I got sick from chicken nuggets I remember, but it was either I was getting sick - and the timing just happened when I ate the chicken nuggets OR bad chicken nuggets. I still tried them after though. She is not allergic to sea food!! She's just as sharkie said - boring!

The more you eat of something the more accusomed you become to the taste. I am guess your friend can't stand change, control freak?

I really enjoy trying new foods, within reason. I have done a lot of traveling in the U.S. and all over Europe so had to get used to different foods. It's good my Mom started me early. She always made us try just one bite of something new and if we then didn't like it we didn't have to eat it. Usually we ended up liking it. I would hate to think I ended up living my whole life missing out on something really good just because I was afraid to at least try a little. That goes for some other areas in life too, also within reason!!

Your friend who got sick after eating seafood may be allergic to seafood, and could die if she eats it again. Saying "she probably was sick before" is a stupid thing to say and you're not stupid so cut it out.
I like to try new foods but no way will I ever eat raw fish. No way, hosea. You're welcome to my share of sushi. And I won't eat bugs, either. Fugeddaboutit!

Yes, always try new foods unless your allergic to something but some things just take a few tries before you decide to like them, and then you can grow to love them.

I am pretty adventurous when it comes to trying food,I actually can't have allot of fun with a fussy eater.
Like friend number one that you described up there....sorry but "boring"
That fussy business is really quite unappealing don't ya think?
I gotta go the timer just went off and my "chips and gravy" are waiting for me!!! lol !!

Yes I am always willing to try new foods. I have trouble keeping my weight up though even by trying to eat foods that are fattening.
