I am not cheating. Sorry for not elaborating on my asking but these questions are for a study guide which will not be graded. I only use Yahoo! Answers as an educational resource...not as a cheating tool.

Pronouns that are placed before the transitive verb:
We, I, he, she, they
Pronouns that are placed after the transitive verb:
Us, me, him, her, them

1.We, back-seat drivers...prevent...(Pronoun is before the transitive verb "prevent" so it is "we")
2.Between you and me...(The verb "speaking" is implied in this phrase, it would be placed before the pronoun, so the pronoun is "me")
3. Sandy and I were...(Pronoun is before the verb "were", so it is "I")
4. We walked around...looking for Chet and him(Since the pronoun is after the verb "looking", it is "him")
5. Neither the Mannings nor they were willing...(Pronoun is before the verb "were" so it is "they")

In each case, try substituting a single pronoun for the compound. This gives:
1. We, nominative case, in apposition to "back seat drivers."
2. Me. Object of a preposition, hence objective case.
3. I. Subject, hence nominative case.
4. Him. See 2.
5. They. See 3.
