I don't think any sleep medicines are good for a 2/3 month old, but I would suggest feeding your little one on take off and landing. We flew with our 3 month old son and did exactly that. I'd been worried about him crying the whole time, but he was as good as gold. The feeding helped stop his ears popping and he enjoyed watching all the people around us. He must have enjoyed the whole experience as he slept the whole way coming home! Be prepared and take a couple of toys to play with too, just in case.
