You not only can change your signature, you will.

A signature of a twelve-year-old is not the same as an eighteen year old. Similarly, the signature you have at 18 will not match that of 35, and by 50 and then 70 it will have changed again.

Change to a signature is almost inevitable: all of us do it. We may plan for it, or we may not, but it will change.

Perhaps it has to do with a signature reflecting something within the person, and as the person grows, not just in age but in knowledge and experience, the signature reflects the growth.

I first saw this with a comparison of signatures written by George Washington at several age breaks, from young to old.

It is not just your signature, but all of your handwriting that changes. Of course, you will notice the signature most, because it is intensely personal.

It is also believed that you can change your habits by changing your handwriting, of which your signature is a main component.

There are other sources, I am sure, but this one is pretty good. Please read it for more ideas:

There's no rule, per se. And if you're young, a teenager, then it's OK. However, as you go into the world of signing legal documents, then it becomes important that your signature remain consistent. Legal documents would include everything from your driver's license, to bank checks, to contracts.

You can change it. Just make sure that you ID and credit cards have the same signature on them.

Yes, you can. I did years ago because I didn't like the way my 'T' looked...the way they taught us in school. I wouldn't change it again & again, tho'.
