How many thumbs down will get an answer removed.
I had a "lovely" reply recently to my Q
"If you found the end of a rainbow, what would you like to find ?"
The reply was getting 15 Thumbs down last time I looked. It has since disappearsd

I'm not sure it works that way ... I'm pretty certain only Yahoo or the answerer can remove a question.
Maybe the person with all those thumbs down decided to remove the answer him/her self?
Cheers :-)

It wasn't the number of thumbs downs the message got, it was the number of reports. Some of us don't post anything in reply to feed the troll, some of us just, oh...

I think you might have been infested by Trolls and you really should call a pest control agency to do something about them.
They will:
1: Bait the area around the Question with stinky cheese from Monroe, WI (the Limburger capitol of the world)
2: Wait next to the Question with large hammers and burlap sacks ala Tom and Jerry cartoons.
3: Whack the Trolls (again ala Tom and Jerry) and then stuff them into the sacks and mail them to Timbuktu where they will never be seen again.
Actually, I really don't know and that's ludicrous having that innocuous of a question removed. (My answer to that particular question still stands, mind, and please no sainting me *blush*) The whole thing is silly.

Thumbs down won't delete a response. Only getting reported will, or if it is completely ridiculous right off the bat, Yahoo! will pull it.

I don't think that answers get removed based on the number of thumbs down.

If you get a lot of "thumbs down" ratings, your answer will become hidden due to its low rating, but I don't think it gets deleted at any point (unless it's reported)

The only thing thumbs down do is they "Hide" a question and you click "Show" to see what the answer was. If it totally disappeared it was because someone reported him. Good for whoever that was.

I don't know Rose...I didn't think thumbs down by themselves did anything...but if you report someone for abuse it automatically gives them a thumbs down (or at least it did whenever I used to report people)...so maybe that's it.

If a question offends that many people, it's probably been reported, not just given t/ds.
