Hot chips = Fish and chips - those types of chips, with gravy on top. Seriously I can't believe some ppl have never tried it.

You must mean 'Fries and Gravy'. French Fries (or 'freedom fries' by some nutty folks who don't like the French) are what we call Chips here. Crisps are called Potato chips over here.
So some people, either just having fun or truly ignorant of those facts, think you're talking about putting gravy on your potato crisps (lol!) (although you can get 'fries and gravy' flavoured potato chips).
In Quebec, they do you one better (you can get it almost everywhere in Canada now). A dish called 'poutine' which is fries, gravy and cheese curds.... friggin' brilliant! You have gotta get yourself some cheese curds and add them to hot gravy and chips (fries). If you don't have it down there, open a stand and make a fortune selling it.... (send me 10% of the profit!)

Love it Love it!!! I personally don't think most people around where I live would know what chips and gravy are though. So I doubt if I know anyone who would be able to say they liked them. They are more biscuits and gravy kind of people. I also like fish and chips. I would guess you are from England maybe?
Yes Yes gravy is really good! Can't eat much of that kind of thing though. Too much fat!!!!!!!

Never had it before, never seen it, so therefore I do not like hot chips and gravy. I don't like gravy in general, so even if I did have access to this I wouldn't try it.

I have friends who wouldn't touch the gravy. One of them likes tartar sauce on his chips, which is too odd.
