Come on Coragyph you sound like a democratic talking point. Why not let the Generals draw up the plans instead of the politicians? Seems to me that's how we lost the last war we fought in Southeast Asia. We pulled out and millions of people there that supported us were slaughtered. Why try that again and expect different results???

I am not betting against our military (that is a lousy thing to say), I am betting based on the information from General Patreas, and other generals, the reports regarding the Iraq government to have done little in 5 years, and the fact that even the military is tired of losing people (We just went to 3,904 body bags), and they are in the middle of a civil war!!
Even the generals say that there is no military victory to be had!
Why do you want the troops to remain there and be brought home dead every single day, while those on corporate welfare gets rich?
The Iraqi prime minister wants us out, just said so again yesterday!
Over 1/2 of the troops do not support the war or Bush in the latest Army Times poll!
They cannot resolve their strife with us there, and the only reason we are there is that we pull millions of barrels of oil out of Iraq every month.
When Bush was elected gas was $1.46 a gallon!

They aren't betting on polls. We're not talking about basing policy on one poll with numbers inside the margin of error. We're talking about numerous polling samples all saying the same thing. And do you really think that these people aren't hearing from constituents on a daily basis?
I wouldn't bet on a poll either, but if I had many polls all so resoundly saying the same thing and my constituency giving me the same message in roughly the same proportion it's probably a safe bet that I'm doing what the people want.
There won't be a win. We both know that.
Besides, Iraq's Prime Minister just said we could leave. The man's without doubt an idiot, but isn't he the voice of his country? If HE says it's ok to go, who are we to argue?

You better face the reality that it's not just democrats anymore who are against the war in the rack. The president is loosing the support of more and more hard core righties. If the Dems are listening to the pols, in this case, the polls reflect the truth: Americans want us out of Iraq.

The problem with Democrats is they are not betting against our Military. They are betting against the Republicans. They just attack and discredit. However, the Republicans do the same thing against the Democrats. So it's us who are screwed here. Because none of them really care about the people. They only care about beating the other team not matter what the cause...

The Democrats are siding WITH the rank and file enlisted soldiers who are sick and tired of being deployed over and over again.
For five years the Bush administration has been saying, "the next 6 months are crucial". Wake up and smell the burning flesh - we're not "winning" and it's not going to turn around. Bush can't even describe what "winning" means in this conflict or what our goals are.

How will you know when we have won. Who will you set down to the table to sign a peace treaty with. What does the enemy look like (Iraqis, or Iranians) who are really the same people pretty much. Who are these terrorist what country do they come from and why are they in Iraq? Terror is a concept not a people. You fight people not concepts.

Hey, just to let you in on a little secret: the Iraqi government is taking a month off for vacation.
They say it's too hot to work on any legislation during summer.
Guess what? Our soldiers don't get a month off. They have to put their lives on the line no matter how hot it is.
You seriously think we can win a war when nobody's willing to make the same sacrifice as our troops.
I'm sure Bush, while he's at his barbeques in Texas, knows what it takes.
It's something he doesn't have: guts or honor.

What are they gambling?
Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
The past four years have clearly shown that what we have been doing has only made matters worse.
So, the option are to not change what we're doing, or to try something different. They want to try something different.
