I know that riddle, but its being said wrong, it should be:

From house to house I go,
Sometimes narrow, sometimes wide.
Whether there's rain or snow,
I always stay outside.

What am I?

The answer is: A path or road

I hope that's the answer...idk where the "messenger" part came from!
