The sky is not an object. It does not float. The sky is just the appearance of the universe as seen from the earth.

It all depends on what your definition of what "sky" is. Go with it......if it floats in the air be cool with that definition ....no one really has this answer but you.....live right now...be here now...love life.

because it is the atmosphere because it is nothing. it only looks like something because of the light coming down makes it look blue. there is nothing to float it is just air that is light and floats

Basicly the air is lighter than the surface air therefor it rises to a point where it is at a level with its own weight.
