I would say, all the good games coming out for PS2 will end this holiday season, and people will ahve to start looking at the next generation of gaming.

Sony pronounced the PS2 has a lifespan of 10-11 years and because it released in 2000, i could say its final lineup of video games could be the two next 12 months for the trip season or if something 2011. As Sony via then could have made the ps3 way low priced via then. Its even rumored to drop to $299 this 12 months

Besides NFL Gameday back on the PSX, since when has Sony ever made any good sports games? EA and 2K Sports make most of the sports games for Sony.

Sony don't make to many sport titles it tends to be third party developers such as EA (FIFA,Madden, NHL,etc), Konami, etc.
Seeing as there are still millions of PS2s around they aren't going to stop too soon (and loose all that potential revenue).
