the slope is 1/2

If you rearrange the equation:
3x - 6y = -20
-6y = -3x - 20
y = (3/6)x + 20/6
y = (1/2)x +10/3

So, you can see that the slope is 1/2.
(recall y=mx+b, where m = slope and b=intercept)

To find the slope, move the 3x over to the right side. Divide each side by -6. This will leave you with y=1/2x+10/3. The slope would then be 1/2

it is really 1/2, not 2 Geolicious

First solve for y to get it into slope-intercept form. In this form your x coefficient is the slope of the line and the other term after x is the y intercept.

3x - 6y = -20

-6y = -20 -3x

y = 10/3 +1/2x or y = 1/2x + 10/3 So if you are using slope-intercept form your slope is 1/2

As always, watch your signs!!!

****I fixed it....I did it backwards.

3x + 20 = 6y
Divide by 6
.5x + 20/6 = y
So the slope is .5 or 1/2

Use the equation:

slope = -A/B (where Ax + Bx = C)

so...slope = -3/(-6) = 1/2

You got to turn the equation around, so that it looks like this:

y = x + (something else)

The first is the slope.
