I gave blood 11 days ago. A few days after I noticed a rather large bruise. It's about 6 inches long and 4 inches wide; it's not a solid bruise. It's become sore within the last 4 days. I can't bend it without it becoming painful. I've been told that my blood went under my skin. It took less than 5 minutes to give the pint of blood. What should I do?

You should call the blood bank where you gave the blood and ask them for advice.
You have a hematoma from the venipuncture and if it is not red, hot or draining it should be ok. Usually when something like this occurs, they suggest you put ice on it, but it has been so long, there is not much you can do except elevate your extremity and wait for it to go down. They may suggest a hot pack depending on the problem

nothing that is just normal. It will hurt for a few days and the bruise may look worse but if the pain persists after a week you might want to call the doctor or even the blood bank that you donated it to.

Just wait. It will go away in a few days. Warm compresses will help.
