Hi,

2x + 5y = 15

Subtract 2x on both sides.

5y = -2x + 15

Divide every term by 5. Reduce.

y = -2/5x + 3
-2/5 is the slope. 3 is the y intercept.

I hope that helps!! :-)

The equation of a line is almost always shown in the format y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. Thus, the equation would be written 5 y = -2x + 15.
