Sounds like a great idea! Sometimes if you get away and see how others live, it makes you see your own life in a new way. Just don't run away and get caught up in the wrong things, which is easy to do. Plan and save for it. Do odd jobs on the road. Try to see the good in others, and it will bring out the good in you.

What don't you 'hate?' By the sound of your question, it sounds like you aren't mature enough to understand what life is about, let alone what the word hate really means. It also sounds like your spoiled. I'm sure you think you can run from your problems, which in college I am sure you will accomplish with a lot of alcohol. Do yourself a favor and stop blaming other people for your (hate)problems, grow up and be kind for a change.

well, if you drive thru the USA, you are going to see people , all kinds, so I would try to get it together with the hating people thing. And that will stall your love life, too. I think you just need a change and it is possible. Work, save your money and head out. I encourage you to.

I decided on a change and drove from Dayton, OH to Salt Lake City, Utah, with a stop-off for a month or so in Cheyenne. I loved it a lot. If you want to do something like that, go for it.

Not alone. I've been traveling with my family each year all over to different places..more to see than by flying and with all the garbage going on all over the world...I wouldn't travel outside the US now with my kids.
Just keep in mind in order to get from here to there, you're going to need some $$$$.
but happy trails to you...

Running away won't solve anything but a nice road trip would be nice.

I have driven from Maine to the Florida Keys and back. I recently drove from Northern California to Atlanta, GA. Do it, it's good for the soul.

I drove from Ga to Maine to Seattle to Grand Canyon, back to GA. It was the best time of my life....the people, the places, the food, the sites, but it was very exhausting.....I do not recommend doing it by yourself unless you have unlimited time and money.
