Bill Gates fortune has a lot to do with luck. He was in the right place at the right time. Back in computer infancy, IBM wanted an operating system and they had two choices: the CP/M OS from Digital Research or PC-DOS from Microsoft. IBM went with Microsoft and thus started the Microsoft domination.

It was probably Bill Gates and Paul Allen that came up with the early BASIC language. But after that, the creation of Windows was mostly from the people that they hired. Technically, Bill Gates did not invent anything. He was very smart about the people he wanted to work for him.

He is so rich because of the "monopoly" Microsoft has on the OS market, other software and the game console that Microsoft has created.

Bill Gates has said that he will give away 95 percent of his fortune before he dies through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He has already demonstrated his genorosity and has donated millions to various causes through this foundation.

He's been stealing ideas from everybody - and marketing them as his own - for decedes...

His first big "idea" was DOS - which was a blatant ripoff of a similar program called QDOS (Quick and Dirty Operating System)... (1981)

Then when it came time to come up with something "new", he released Windows - which is a slightly prettier version of the Mac OS... (1985)

When it was time to conquer the online world, he "created" Internet Explorer - an almost identical copy of the already popular Netscape Navigator... (1995)

And then of course there is the XBox (2001) - which actually isn't a ripoff of anything. So I guess he DID invent that ;);)

He has made his money by stealing ideas (as mentioned above), as well as a lot of business savvy - and illegal tactics. Anyone standing in his was either bought out, or muslced into submission - either way, Microsoft won.

Even a seemingly endless string of lawsuits couldn't stop him ;););)

Like a typical jew he found a way to steal money from the public at large by having an operating system created that will only run with microsoft application software. Why do you think the federal courts dragged him in and demanded he make everything open?

Bill Gates might have been at the right place at the right time but then a lot of other people were right there at that time. He is the one that had the vision of the Personal Computer. He basically created something that everybody wanted and made it affordable enough so that at least a third of humans have at least some access to a PC. That is his genius no matter howmuch some would downplay it and call it luck.
