I know that every company is worried about the bottom line, but are they truly evil. Does anyone have any horror stories, especially former workers?

I've worked there and had a great time. I never understood what all the hype was about. I worked in the Pet department and I referred a lot of people to local businesses for pet supplies. Same thing with customers in sporting goods, hardware, electronics, and clothing. I would even go so far as to call up the store I was telling them about and make sure they had the product the customer was looking for.

As for wages, well, come on. I knew there was only so much I was going to get straightening the department and putting away merchandise, so I put in for a promotion and got it.

Basically, I think people exaggerate quite a bit. Nobody would listen unless it sounds horrible, right? Then you have to think of the motives behind some of those pieces of media.

I still think the best opinion is the one a person forms from their own experiences. At least then they know what they are talking about.

I worked the photo lab when I did my stint for WalMart.
And...like anything in life...it varies.
I've heard great stories from people who have enjoyed their time there and I've heard others.

For me...it was a matter of management. We had a very inefficient management team, very high turnover rate and very high losses...I quit before finding out later that someone came in and "cleaned house". Once they started with a new fresh team willing to take care of the job....the place was great...I just never stuck around to see it.

Are you looking to invest in the company or get a job collecting shopping carts in the parking lot?
