It is sad. I think the mean people have plenty of mean followers who admire their nerve. Us kind people need to be proactive and do thumbs up and down ourselves. I have started to do that. Even if the person has my view point, if he or she is nasty and rude, I give it thumbs down.

The people like sarcasm. And if a person asks a stupid question, or an immature one, why should they be given a friendly answer?
I mean, I like giving helpful, friendly answers to those who deserve them. But if I see an idiotic question, what is going to drive me to give a non-sarcastic answer?
Besides, sarcasm=usually funny. People like funny.
But that also is a generalization. Not every friendly answer gets a thumbs down. Maybe you've just had bad experiences?

It's pretty sad, huh?
I recently just answered a question with a great answer and the second I refreshed I already had two thumbs downs...
I think there are just too many people that are looking for something specific with closed minds...
That would be my best guess.
Oh well! Life's a *Ahem*.

I've wondered that myself. Sometimes I think people must be cheering on what they see as rebel spirit.
