the bios or basic input output system is the most basic level of your p.c,this is were all your hardware such as hard drives,cd roms and graphic cards are first configured
to eneter the bios(or properly named "set up"),you should press "delete" when your p.c first starts up,you will then enter the bios
there are many parts of the bios, probally the only feature you will ever use is the boot order, this can be changed so your p.c will boot from a specific device when it starts
other features include the power bios feature, this is were you can "overclock" your processor, however this is unadvisable as it can damage your cpu,but if you know what you are doing thats fine
there should also be two options, load fail-safe and load optimized defaults, these are use for the basic settings(fail safe) and for the best settings(optimized)
theres also settings for overclocking both your graphic card and memory, however these should be left untouched as it can make your p.c unstable
for more reading and info go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BIOS,and finally the bios can be updated, but this is quite a technical procedure and if done wrong can damage your p.c for good
any problems let me know
good luck mate!

Your bios is how you access various hardware settings for your motherboard.
Detect hard drives, change ram timing, cpu clock speed etc.
Normally you can access it by holding down F1 or F2 while your computer is just starting up.
Dont mess with settings here until you know what you are doing. Use your mother board manual if your not sure.
