gemini, you must love Cheney, then. He has given more money to charity than every democrat in the senate combined

campaign funds pay for his haircuts, not his fake political lawyer billing to "clients".

Don't you just want to scream at these liberals to shut up? Poverty is a state of mind. Where I live most of us are poverty according to the state's guidelines but I personally feel blessed. If he's so worried about poverty he'd give away his millions and live in poverty himself then he can know what it feels like to buy used cars and shop at Walmart. He needs a real job where he can pay the taxes that he wants to pay for these programs. I wish the government would just leave me alone so that I can work and raise my family in peace and not feel ashamed that because of my hard work we have food and shelter. He should get his hair cut at Walmart, too.

Apparently you don't talk much with the poor of America. If you did, you'd realize how silly your question is. When you talk to someone who hasn't had lunch yet, do you brag about what your ordered at a restaurant an hour ago?

Amazingly enough, someone is allowed to pay whatever they want for their haircut, as long as they earned the money. As a lawyer, Edwards did.

This doesn't mean he doesn't care about poverty. To think it does--and that anyone else has the right to say how he should spend his personal money--is laughably simplistic.

Another conservative dodging "issues", and rather have a "haircut" political debate, how mindless and plainly put- boring. . .
You are a prime example as to why the Republican vote has run this country into the ground. You continually have your priorities screwed up,but then it just shows how you are so uniformed what is really going on in this country. . .

Somehow I doubt that. Do you really think he wants to remind potential voters that he paid $400 for a haircut with campaign money? I wonder who donated money to John Edwards campaign and if they feel annoyed at this.

I would guess a Democrat getting a haircut
is a whole lot cheaper than Republicans paying
for hookers from the DC madam....
(Or in Foleys case...just picking a teenage boy
for the night from his page workers who worked for him)

It's always a good sign when people fixate on something like this for months. Nothing else to criticize, so be trite and petty! Edwards must be doing well.

Edwards has done a remarkable amount of charity work for the poor. He is following the teachings of Jesus more than most Republicans are.
