I was reading on Wikipedia which stated that the full moon had little or no effect on humans...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_moon#Effects_of_Full_Moon
So in your opinion or personal experience, state whether you believe in this or not. Why or why not?
Which by the way the next full moon this month should be the 29th, make an observation whether it effects anyone in any way^_^...just for the hell of it.

I believe the Moon does effect people. Notice I didn't say full Moon because after all whether it is fully lit by the sun or not from our vantage point the whole thing is still over head.
There are times of the month when the Moon is closer to the Earth than other times because it's orbit is not a perfect circle.
A team of scientist believe they can predict Earthquakes by determining when these closest passes to the Earth align with known fault zones.
If the gravitation forces of the Moon are strong enough to cause tides on Earth it stands to reason that these forces would be stronger at those times when the Moon is closest.
It is well researched and documented that the Moon affects the life patterns of animals of Earth from migration patterns to biological functions like mating.
Man is an animal too. Why would our species not be affected by the Moon like the others animals on our planet. Could these instinctive patterns and rhythms wired into our brains have been erased simply because the intelligence levels of humans has advanced to it's present state? Probably not.
I believe these rhythms and functions affected by the Moon's gravity remain unconsciously active in our brains
Perhaps for reasons we don't know of, some people are affected more than others.

Hmmm... I guess it's a psycological effect, like when you see something out of the ordinary. Back in the days where men hunted for food, they would rely on the full moon, which would greatly brighten up the sky. Only when the full moon was up would they usually go off to hunt.
Aside from that, we are also quite superstitious, and often associate the full moon for bringing bad luck, violence, and werewolves. I remember seeing a documentary once, saying how men were often more aggressive during the full moon. But I still think it's all in the head.

Way back in the early 90s I remember reading a study done by some criminology students that showed, statistically, there where more crimes committed on full moons than new moons.
My 2 cents on that ( and a guess at best) is that it is EASIER to see things on the night on a full moon. Hence human activities at night are easier to do - including breaking into cars. I would probably say that the psychological effect that the moon plays on our mind is probably incidental rather than consequential.

I'm not sure, i think it is possible that other things are effecting you at the time of a full moon. When it's a full moon, you have probably been up for a good portion of the day and becoming fatigued, mentaly and physicaly, which might influence your behavior. But somehting I like to say is "I'm not a lunatic, because it's not just at night ;)" lol.

I think the idea of a full moon makes people respond in a crazy way. There really is no other way of proving it. I think people use this as an excuse to not take responsibility for their actions. Just think about it, what would you think if someone said, "I didn't mean to kill my wife and children, but there was a full moon and I couldn't help it".

Yes....I do. I worked in a hospital for a couple of years...the e.r. was always busier, patients with mental issues (such as demenitia or Alzheimer's) were always more restless....and their always seemed to be more babies born. My theory is that the moon has a pull on water...the whole tide thing with the oceans....and we are made mostly of water, so why not?!?!?!? Nothing scientific here...just my observations.

Believe it or not, the freaks DO come out at night. Especially during a full moon.

Yes, I think it can. Just like some people think that chocolate helps depression...and for some people it does. But for others, it just makes them happy because it is sweet. For me, the full moon is seductive. So i would say yes, it CAN affect people, but that doesn't mean everyone.
