I cross the border at Progresso and Reynosa with medicine quite often. As long as you don't have a large quantity of drugs you will have no problem, just make sure to declare them and don't try to hide them. A two-three months supply will be no problem. You can find a list of drugs that you can bring back on the immigration service website.

Many people from the states go to Mexico to buy medicines because they are way cheaper in price. I would trst the medicine before I trust the water that's for sure- "xjoizey".I'm not sure how much you are allowed to bring back without a prescription. You could probably get away with a couple boxes of Penicillin in your pocket or purse as long as you're not too suspicious looking.

Whatever your prescription indicates. Many antibiotics are sold in Mexico without prescription, or you can see a local Doctor for a scrip. Bottled water available everywhere, purified ice too. This isn't your grandma's Mexico, its a civilized country.
