Which character did you most closely relate to and why?

john boy...oldest sibling, kind of a leader, respectful to elders, educated, good with the younger kids.

Even though I am female, I related to John Boy because he wanted to see the world. He wanted to get off of Walton's Mountain, at least for a while.

I'd have to say I most closely relate to Grandma after she had her stroke. Nobody wanted her to do anything on her own cause they didn't think she could or shouldn't. Whenever she tried to talk nobody listened to her cause they thought she was just rambling, but she really had something important to say. I always felt for her. I was so happy when everyone realized that she was still able to do stuff on her own. By the way that was a great show. I watched it all the time. Wish I could still watch them, but haven't seen a rerun in years.

I always liked the Baldwin sisters the best. They came off like decent women but were really bootleggers selling "the recipe". If I was alive back in those days, I would like to think I would be the bootlegger and not one of the women staying home and cleaning all day!

One of the most melodramatic shows ever on tv...I found it hard to relate to any of the characters because they seemed so unrealistic. As a young girl I probably related to the little girl in the show...her name escapes me at the moment.
