You don't have to apologize for being abnoxious and since people don't really care what you say, you can be very brutally honest (and share your opinions in other ways like blogs, podcasts, etc and keep your anonymity, and other people wouldn't suspect it's you).
Since people normally don't have high opinions of you, you don't have to raise the bar at anything you do. If you display talents nobody knows you have, you suddenly get popular, and when the popularity subsides it won't even matter to you because your just going back to the station you're used to.
And just because nobody knows anything about you, you can succeed an your chosen profession and go back to your popular classmates and brag about your success. And they'd be envious (and you'd even be attractive to some of them) but they won't get annoyed because they know you're a loser and this act is expected of you. You can keep pushing it.
