I'm planning a baby shower for one of my best friends, who is pregnant with her first baby. I need some cute original sentimental ideas. I know we'll be having a lot of diaper cake gifts. We're a huge group of friends so we'll be coordinating so that she doesn't get 15 bottles of johnson and johnson lol. And we're also putting out a bunch of white onesies with fabric pens, for guests to decorate. What else can we do? She's really shy, so no silly games. She'd be mortified if we measured her belly! We want a sophisticated sweet shower-- but I need more ideas! help!!!

A photo/memory album. Get the album, an assortment of pens and markers, a Polaroid camera and take pictures of everyone there, letting them write a little something on the page with their photo. Don't forget mommy gets the first page and you'll need photo safe tape for the pics. Better memories than a silly game and everyone gets to participate.

I've been to a shower where they give everyone 5 small pink and blue clothes pins to pin on clothing. Anyone caught crossing their legs gives a pin to the person who catches them. The one with the most pins at the end, wins. It's kinda cute because the mother to be can most likely no longer cross her legs, so it makes everyone walk a step in her shoes. Also, at my shower, my friends had a nice piece of paper that everyone who came signed and wrote a little message. A spot was left blank and when my baby was born, I put her foot prints on it. It still hangs in her room.

I've been to showers where each guest was giving a cute sheet of paper and asked to write their advice for the first time mom. Some of them can be very sweet.

One of my favorite baby shower ideas is to have a brunch. You could even have it outside if the weather is nice.

Make it intimate and simple with no silly games.

Have tub or bird bath filled with water and floating candles

Serve quiche, croissants, fruit skewers and orange juice with a splash of pomegranate juice.

For favors, hand out cute boxes filled with chocolates or jelly beans (check ebay for favor boxes), or you can give flower seed packets.

Have nice music playing in the background

Find some fake butterflies or fireflies and hang in shrubs and trees.

We had sort of a raffle and I placed on the gift table, one framed photo each of my sister and her husband. I then took wallet sized baby photos of each of them and made them like raffle tickets and placed them on the plates in the dining room where we had the shower. Whomever had matching numbers and pictures won a prize. I know it sounds complicated, but everyone LOVED it and put the photos on their fridges. Now, when they receive photos of the baby, they hold it up next to the photos to see who the baby looks like!

Hey!! I have a page on my website dedicated to SWEET AND SENTIMENTAL games....because I, too, think that the shower should be memorable and about CELEBRATING BABY (not acting like a child!!)

Check it out....I put the link below.

make sure when the guest come in they fill out an address label so when you send out thank you notes just pull and stick.
even do a collage of pics of the mom to be growing up.

or make i tea party.
those are always fun.

sounds nice so far. Play the "no baby" game, where every guest gets a baby safety pin or a plastic pacfier on a string, and can't say "baby". if they say it they have to give the pin to th person who caught them! Most pins wins.

Fill in the blanks on nursury rhymes or fairy tale names, like ____ ____ and the seven dwarves, Hey____ _____, the cat and the _____. (easy examples, you can make it as hard as you like)

FIRST BUY 2 PIGGY BANKS....DURING THE SHOWER PASS THEM BOTH AROUND...ONE IS FOR THE BABY TO SAVE FOR HIS COLLEGE.....THE OTHER IS FOR THE MOM...INSTEAD OF MONEY FOR THE MOM YOU PASS OUT LITTLE SLIPS OF PAPER AND HAVE THEM WRITE SUGGESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO QUESTION THEY KNOW SHE WILL HAVE ALONG THE WAY...
