No. If a male has the right then a female should have the right. After all, it's just like you said: "Without a woman a man isn't complete". And a female certainly does pull her own weight, she has earned the rights the males have. And we females have been earning them since the dawn of time. With all that we have endured over the centuries, with all our mothers and grandmother have had to face, I say we have earned the rights of males. And I say we should all get them throughput the world, because it's not just in one place we having been earning our freedom and rights. The right to live, is the right for all people. Is it selfish of you to want to manipulate how a partner dresses, or to inisist you get her paycheck?
Is it selfish of you to want her to waste her time making you a pillow, or requiring that she cut up your food as if you were an invalid, or an infant?
Government was not frivilous in granting womens rights. They did the prudent thing. Without women's rights we'd be dragging half the population of the country behind us.
For example: the right to equal pay. At the rate men are abandoning their families, the states would all go bankrupt replacing the income men withold from their children's support.
I think the government serves itself. It is a business entity. It cannot afford to depend on only half the population. Especially since half of that half is entirely undependable. I think women's rights was an act of self-preservation.

why would that be selfish women were born with one strike on them because they are women. we have to prove ourselves to you men all the time. i am a police officer in chicago and i am constintly having to do things to prove that i am in the right field of work so no i dont think it is selfish for a women to want the same rights

It was more so what they did in order to obtain that right that was selfish. For instance many starved themselves to death and left their husbands and kids behind; meaning their loved ones who loved them dearly. Then there was this woman who literally threw herself in front of a band of race horses and got trampled to death.
