This post isn't for the conservatives. This is for the liberals who actually love this country. Judgements will be made for original thoughts and in the spirit of tolerance there shall be no bashing involved in this. This is straight up original stuff.

This is my home! I live well here. I've watched this country love, cry, gnash it's teeth. We fall, we come back stronger. I have faith in the American Way and her people to right the wrongs of the past and never travel that road again.

Actually, as a liberal, I think it's cool that both liberals and conservatives (and everyone else) get a voice in this country. I think America's cool because of its diversity, and while the conservatives can drive me crazy sometimes, it's important that EVERYONE gets to contribute to the national dialogue.

I love our checks and balances. I love our Bill of Rights. Frankly, I love that even our poorest citizens are doing better than the middle class of many other countries, and that far more wealthy citizens than you hear about contribute to a lot of charities to help the rest.

And some of our TV shows rock, even if others are wincingly embarrassing.

Wow.

Why is America "cool?"

For me, because of people like Jack Kerouac, Hunter S. Thompson, Dave Matthews, Jerry Garcia, Susie Bright, Betty Dodson, Dr. Ruth, David Sanborn, Martin Luther King, and a thousand others.

For the fact that we have a right to think liberally. To have the freedom to disagree with what may or may not be going on in our government and ultimately use our voices or votes to possibly change the status quo. To be able to bring new ideas addressing the deficiencies of an often stagnant political system.

You are really lonely aren't you... America is great because I can say what I want about anybody I want to with out there being any charges brought against me. I have the freedoms that most the world only dream of. Never mind Food, clean water, Medical attention, work, and beautiful women... Oh and Clint Eastwood movies...

For me, My freedom to travel anyplace in the country I desire, to live anyplace that I can afford, to raise my children in the manner in which I see fit. My ability to go to the polls and express my right to vote without fear of reprisal. My right to associate or not to associate with whom ever I please. And last but not least my right to express my approval or disapproval with the actions of my government.
