I'm still in school and I dont work but I have been fired from a volunteering job at my elementary school which is really sad in my opinion. I survived because I thought: Hey I'm doing this to be nice if she wants to fire me because I skipped a couple of day's then that's her problem. Oh and by the way what helped me survive more was the fact that the next year when she couldn't find any volunteers she asked me if I am willing to volunteer.

I got fire from an Ace Hardware. I couldn't memorize all the different kind of nails. I was actually somewhat relieved.

I also got fired by the United States Postal Service. I was praying for that to happen. They actually time how many steps you take per minute! No pressure there!

I survived just fine. I have a great job now.

Yes, and I was so upset and shocked, I almost had a panic attack driving home. I prayed, cause there were definatley some lies told about me. It was the most upsetting thing, it hurt cause i was close to my boss and she believed someone elses lie. Heres what happened, they got a new partner, who we all knew was money hungry and a lie and a cheat (he would alway try to get me to work for him by offereing me more money and crap). anyways so he promised my bosses that he could make big $ for the company. They asked me and the others in the office what our opinion was of the new partner, and me being the honest person I am I told them be careful I don't trust him, so what do u think they do, they tell him what I said. So he made it his mission to get me fired and he did it by lies. and he did end up embezzling money from the company. So they should have listened to me. it was for the best though i have a much better job that I love now. sorry so long...

Yes, I was, and I was fine with it. I had hired into a company as a receptionist where the former one didn't want another woman in the place. They gave me all sorts of conflicting instructions, and when I couldn't understand the people phoning in (who often called from construction sites) and wrote down names as Bill instead of Phil and Fred instead of Ed, they fired me. By that time, I had gotten fed up with the lack of training and support anyway, so after the initial shock, I was fine. Went off and found a better job closer to home and later had testing to see if my hearing was off (it wasn't). It's their loss--they went out a business a year later.

Yes, it was a long time ago. I was told that I needed to go home, get married & have babies. Too bad I couldn't prove what he said to me, huh?
I survived it & it happened because I missed too many days of work. Didn't matter that I had a doc's excuse, either.
But a few short months later he delivered pizza to my door because he got fired from that cozy little manager job of his! So Karma does exist :-)

No, but I was damned close! I took the layoff package right after. Might as well get severance now before they tried again.
Pretty much I stood up for someone unpopular so they made up some crap to try to get rid of me. Me doing so got them in big trouble with the higher ups and they had to pay the person I stood up for unemployment and settlements. I caused them to lose money and face.

When i was 17. I was trying to work go to school, and had the worst depression know to man. I guess I looked tried all the time. So they let me go. Wasn't to bad I got to sleep in again. That's the only time I have been fired.

Yes. After it happened, I told the son of a b**** where he can stick his job, and then I was hired at the very first place I submitted an application afterwards.

Yes. Very recently, and I am not yet in the red....but I will be okay. It happened for politics most likely....they said I violated a policy (absences) that they don't enforce across the board. Hello, automatic unemployment.
