About 12 days ago my computer messed up and it kept saying that it has limited or no connectivity. This was after i installed McAfee antivirus so I thought uninstalling the antivirus would work but it didn't. So after that i took it to best buy and they said it'll cost me 140 dollars so i gave it to em and thought they would fix it. They said it takes 7-10 days and im really bored at home without my computer for 12 days. What should i do? Call best buy and yell at them for taking so long? Just need some thoughts of other people please.

Ok. I called them and they said it had alot of adware/malware and they didn't have any idea of when it would finish. So it's just waiting then?

$140 and 12 days to do it. That really sucks. That should have been a desperate last resort.
Usually I would try next a system restore. If that does not work, this one worked for me thrice in different PCs and w/ one of our peers here:
http://www.informationweek.com/shared/printableArticle.jhtml?articleID=189400897
ALL files will be intact, GUARANTEED. Then I would do a virus scan, preferably with Kaspersky or NOD32 or both to make sure that it was not a virus that messed up my PC. Then I would let Scotty (of WinPatrol) guard my Registry so that nothing could mess it up again.
ALSO, it just takes an hour or two to clean for adwares/malwares. The good cleaners are here; take you pick:

First problem was McAfee and others will disagree until the end of time, but I think this program and Nortan is a virus itself. Get computer associate or PCcillin. Also McAfee uses a lot of system resources and greatly slows your PC. I has to shut it down when I had it just so I could use my computer. If you can get your computer back I'd just do a restore point. I'm assuming it's a window OS. Also, there is a great program out there for fixing problems on your PC called WinASO Registry Optimizer. I swear by it. I'm sure the geeks are just backed up, not that it takes a long time to fix. Hope this helps.

Well best buy likes to jerk people around. If its saying that its limited connectivity, and its wireless, you probably only needed to reset the router. There was a news show that busted Best Buy for telling people that it would take a bunch of money and blah blah blah to fix a simple problem. They sent a guy in with a computer that wouldn't load from the hard drive (they had unplugged the HD cable). Best buy told them that the HD was currupt and such...it was terrible and told them that it would cost a butt load of money. Watch what happens when you get your computer back....and if you still have problems, contact me at my website.

For one, make sure all of the wires are plugged in properly. Next you need to make sure your isp is up and running ( if using a cable box all the sent/received/online lights should be on. If they are all on, unplug the cable box and try to plug it back in. If this doesnt work put in "extra details" and ill add more.
Are you on a network or do you connect directly to the internet ( do you have a router or just cable box )
Either way it was a problem you could have easily fixed yourself and they overcharged you way to much. Id suggest going there and getting it back, and also getting a refund for taking longer then the expected time. If you signed any comtracts or papers that said they would have it back to you in that time you could sue them if you wanted for whatever reasons.

yes it is just waiting but when you get it back get a good antivirus software with spyware protection built in but beware that mcafee and norton will take over your computer and I would really recommend downloading the Symantec Corporate Version from their website as it is not as intrusive on the computer and gives you the control over what is loaded. It is not the norton branded product but symantec. AVG is the other choice or Trend Micro.

Yes call right now i meen RIGHT NOW OK! It dos not take 7 to 10 f-ing days to fix that and did you try to do system restore in safe mode. And do you half Windows XP. But they will fix it that is just dumb that it should take 7 to 10 days to fix. I now some one that went to best by and she just went to France and she had a bunch of photos on he PC that she did not back up yet and now what happened they reformattied her drive all was gown and to let you know yes she did tell them not to reformat it at all. So i do not like best by. Fix it place. I still like the store. You can try and get the game GO yea that is the game is calld GO. So half fun and you can get a blackberry i love it i totally love it a lot i can do all that i do on the PC so you can do that if your PC gos down like mine did once. I like it. So you can get one if you half the money for it they are not to much i got mine the 8703e for 80 at US cellular i like them i live in WI so it is one of the best for cell people up here. Good luck and half fun lots of fun:)

well they over charged you. you could have gotten it for free. reason it's taking so long is they probably don't know how to repair it and your just gonna end up with a system restore you could have done yourself. i would call and check how thing's are going. i can't ever stress enough never ever take your computer to a repair shop. there are lot's of site's with tech's willing to resolve your issue for free.
also mcfee probably blocked a setting and when you uninstalled it the changes it made were left behind. so your comp was not reconverted to the way it was before, it was still set up according to the way mcfee configured it. let's us know if all they do is a system restore on it.
