I'm making a student movie and I need to know how to make realistic looking bruises etc...

they probably use pre-made color wheels. I was in theater in high school and we had little make up circles {like one of those things they put lip balm in (not in a stick)} and many of them were pre-labeled on the back as bruises/ cuts.

bruises usually involve purple,red, yellow and green. also these weren't powder make up, they are oil based. I think we used Ben Nye products for class

It would probably be easier if you ask for help from a make up crew person in the theater department of you school because they may have access to this stuff.

I think they use different dark color makeup and mix them together.
