Yes, that is what he will drink for the first few days of life. After that your true milk starts to come in, and you will know it when it does! In the meantime, that colostrum is invaluable to baby - like liquid gold :)

Colostrum does start out as yellow but gradually turns to a white colour as your milk comes in about 5-10 after birth. The nurses I had called it liquid gold because it is so full of nutrients for baby's first days.

There is a wide range of normal for color of colostrum and breast milk. Colostrum tends to be yellowish to whitish. If yours is orange I would think back on your diet for the last few days. One pregnancy/breastfeeding book I read (don't remember which one) said that one woman had consumed a large glass or two of bright red punch, and her milk was pinkish for a couple days. Not the greatest if you think of your baby (or fetus) consuming it, but not the end of the world either. Good luck with your baby!

Your baby will first drink the colostrum which tends to be more yellow colored and thick. A few days after the baby is born your milk will come in. It will be a milky white color (no pun intended).

It's yellowish throughout pregnancy and will also be a yellowish gold color for the first few days after your baby is born.
That's why they call colostrum "liquid gold."
When your milk "comes in" about 4 days postpartum it will usually be white or creamy white however it does vary in color for different women, for instance they might see a slight pinkish or bluish hue and that's perfectly normal.

Yes, and it is highly nutritious and full of antibodies to fight infection. Your baby will get colostrum for around the first three days until your milk comes in and it is the best start in life!

I work in the infant room at a Daycare. This is normal and after the baby begins to suckle your Breast, the milk will turn white. If you pump, you will notice sometimes it has a bluish or greenish tint, Thats when the colostrum is more prominent. Good Luck with the little one!!!!!

Your baby needs that at first. Your milk will come in after a couple of days of breastfeeding. No worries!
And good for u for breatfeeding. It is best for the baby and will lower your risk of breast cancer!

From everything I've read, the colostrum is commonly yellow-ish in color.
