Of course I know about Bob Marley, but who else. I need classic artists & a couple of today's examples.

By the way how is Sean Paul viewed by you reggae purists?

Hi,
Check out these great bands/artists:
Buju Banton, Barrington Levy, Peter Tosh, Yellowman, Supercat, Spearhead, Musical Youth, Jimmy Cliff, Steel Pulse, Stephen, Julian, Ziggy, & Damian Marley, Foxy Brown (the reggae singer, not the hip hop singer - yes they are 2 different people.),
Shaggy, Sean Paul, Shabba Ranks, Third World, Katchafire, Gregory Issacs, Beanie Man, & Beres Hammond.
I am sure there are many other great artists out there - the ones I have listed are in my opinion, some of the greatest Reggae musicians in the world.

Lots of luck to you & enjoy the wonderful sounds of Reggae music!!

Please start with more traditional reggae music! You'll enjoy it. Trust me. A great artist to start with is Peter Tosh. Try to get your hands on some live Peter Tosh recordings. Bob Marley obviously is a good one too.. not my favorite but still good. Wailers, Peter Tosh,Ziggy Marley, *Soja*, Toots and the Maytals,.. check 'em out! Happy Listening
