I am not afraid and i would welcome that metal mom into my house. For years I cleaned after all the kids and husband. My youngest one is 17 and she is a slob. I was recently diagnosied with MS and for years haven't had the energy to keep up. I will see the neurologist next month and I will have him write me a presription for a maid.

I more scared about an asteroid hitting the Earth, but yes I'm very scared. If they can replace a human, they will soon take over the world. That'll be the end of humanity. Luckily, we're more likely to be wiped out by an asteroid than by machines. As for what machine, a machine with artificial intelligence of course. If it didn't have any intelligence, it couldn't replace humans.

WTF are you talking about? You don't know how people are voting, and you don't know what the machines say, after someone votes. These things are private. And no, it's simply incorrect to say that most poll workers are liberal...they come from all walks of life, and all parties. They're all volunteers who care primarily that you have the same access to voting as everyone else. Edit: Yeah, as Uncle Pennybags mentioned, this sounds "oddly" like a recent episode of The Simpsons. And Christian, if you're really paying attention to your current events, and actually read the article, you'd see that (a) the problem has been corrected, and (b) seems to have been relevant to ONE machine. It's not "all these machines", nor is it a conservative vs. liberal issue. It's a matter of being able to hit the right button on a touch screen, which I think a lot of us have experience with.

Fiddling with wheat? All day? For your degree? That must be A LOT of wheat and alot of time.
You can just keep reminding yourself that you are working towards an outcome and you will look back upon today as the work you did to get to that point in the future.
This is a funny question because I have just told my "boss" that when I go do field work, he can replace me with a monkey and a robot.

No machine could replace me........I FIX the machines. Not to mention that things are made to fail these days......I can't keep up with the failure rate. You try replacing a diagnostic mechanic with a machine......impossible. Man will always adapt better than a machine. And today's engineers are not that clever. Maybe engineers will be replaced if they keep this up.

I think so. I don't want a world being dominated by machines or else we could be lazy and do nothing all day; and that could not be healthy at all!
About what kind of machine could replace me, i think nothing because I am UNIQUE! No one can do exactly what i do that's for sure!

No I can't wait - the other day I was attempting to tidy the toxic dump my son calls a bedroom and under a blanket there was a robot with my face! He was in the process of covering it with papier mache obviously to look like skin and I thought OMG he is going to replace me with a machine! Then I thought well thank heaven for that - no more thankless tasks like, cooking, cleaning, ironing, taxiing, paying out pocket money etc etc etc!

I'm not too scared of it because machines fail to have the emotional and intellectual capacity of a human. I mean....I can think of ten jobs that can't be replaced by machines....
1. Acting
2. Psychology
3. Modeling
4. Prostitution
5. Scientists........
I'm giving up.....

Are you afraid of your washing machine?
Are you scared of computers today?
Computers had taken over a lot of jobs and yet before their introduction, there were fears about them.
Robotics could be the next frontier. They are already in many automated factories such as for building cars, etc.
Don't be scared, utilize them as tools to improve your performance. Think of them as freeing up your labor-intensive chores so that you can perform higher-level functions.
