breaking its little heart? She misses her momma time and looks so sad when I pull her off. Orphaned at like 4 weeks, two weeks later, after she moved here, she started attacking my neck to nurse. Kitty counselors?

I know exactly what you mean. I took in two, five week old kittens and they did the same thing. I felt sorry for them and let them do it. They were nursing on my hair!! Long story short, one grew out of it as she got a little older and my 'boy", well he's 12 years old now and still doing it. He isn't trying to nurse but he has to sleep right near my head and does the clawing thing, until he finally settles in to sleep. He evens takes his little front arm and wraps it around my neck in a hug. You're the new mama, so just do your best to wean the little one.

I found a 4 wk old kitten in my auto mechanic's garage. The mother quit feeding this runt of the litter. IT was actually starving. I took it home and cried with it because I didn't know what to do to make it stop crying. I called the Vet, who told me to buy a kitten baby bottle at the pet store and kitten formula--follow the directions. Once fed, the only thing that quieted this kitten down was sleeping on my pillow, near my neck and HAIR. Yes, the hair calms a kitten into thinking YOU are their mommy.

This 2 yr old kitten now weights 6 lbs and is a full adult. He still snuggles and "pumps" my hair on the pillow at night while he purrs himself to sleep. There aren't too many things that make me feel as good!!
