Why does he continue to try to tie Iraq to 9/11? Why does he still imply that "Al-Qaeda in Iraq" is the same Al-Qaeda that attacked us on 9/11, when they're not? Why does he keep making more excuses and asking for more time when things are only getting worse and American soldiers continue to die for people that don't want us there?

First of all, Weasel, the haircut was $400, not $1000... and regardless of how much it cost I'd like to know how that's as relevant as 3600 dead American soldiers.

I really believe that Bush isn't EVER going to realize that Americans aren't buying his war anymore. And if public sentiment does penetrate his bubble, he'll ignore it, because he knows what's best for all of us.
Continuing to tie Iraq to 9/11 is a form of fearmongering. It's the same tactic Joe McCarthy used in the 50's: fearmongering vis a vis the Soviet Union. The careers of many Hollywood figures, writers, and performers were ruined by McCarthy, who alleged that their liberalism, or leftist views, were Communist. (Even if they were, they had the right to those views, if they didn't commit a crime such as sedition or terrorism).
It's the same thing with "Al Qaeda in Iraq". He uses Al Qaeda as a scare term to keep us cowed and obedient.
I believe that one mark of an intelligent person is the ability to change one's mind---to make another decision on the same issue. Doesn't have to be earth-shakingly important. You had 2 burgers and fries yesterday? Oops! Bad decision! Veggies and fruit today!
The only difference is in the scope of decisionmaking. Bush cannot change his mind, because it's threatening to his ego. He cannot accept that he made a bad decision---on anything--and that a change is better in the long run. As a friend of mine once said, "The best baseball players only succeed 1/3 of the time at bat. So if I only make the right decision one time in three, I'm just as good as them!"
Seriously though, we should all try to get to a mindset in which we think, "I made the best decision I could in that situation. If I get to make another decision on the same issue later, I'll make the best decision I can the second time, with whatever additional info I have then." That flexibility, mental maturity, self-confidence, whatever, is what's lacking in our current "President" (czar, dictator, emperor, king).

When Americans call out Democrats who pay $1000 for a freakin' haircut.

$400!? Gee, the hairdresser said there was at least a dozen or so haircuts and at least one of them was $1,200 if not more. But since you want to argue (and it sounds like you're OK with paying $400) I can see your a VERY rational person. Maybe next time we'll just direct Al-Qaeda to the Dems national headquaters.

I am an American and I support the war...I know A LOT of Americans that support this war.

But, lets take a look at why a lot of Americans hate the war: The media has painted an awful bloody picture of this war and doesn't take the time to show the other half of what is going on. Civilian deaths are down 36%. There have been less and less terrorist attacks since the troop surge. We have been capturing and killing terrorists on a daily basis...yet we never hear any of this on CBS, NBC, or ABC.

And, have you talked to the Iraqis? They want us there. I have friends that are currently fighting over there right now... and most of the people there want us to stay and secure the region.

We are fighting a war on terror. There are terrorists in Iraq...this really isn't that trivial.

My family fled Islam in the 1950s. We've been expecting this war for decades.

You have no idea what you are talking about. I am stunned at the utter ignorance of so many Americans who don't understand what they are facing, and still would hide, pretend, blame, or even turn against their own country while in the face of a force which wants three things:
Convert, enslave, or kill...you.

I don't know of anyone who supports this war...how can an official elected by "the people" go so far against them?

Bush is just a front man. He doesn't even know half of what goes on in his administration.

My guess is at this point he can't wait to exit and he's just happier than a pig in doo doo counting down the days till he is out of office.

When are YOU gonna figure out that it isn't "George Bush's War"?

You obviously don't have the courage to serve in uniform. So, since this war isn't directly bothering you.....shut up. Go about your li'l twinky life. Get your manicures and plan your vacations.

And hope "Fun Land" isn't bombed while you're there.

Not to worry, though. REAL Americans are doing the dirty work so you don't have to.

Because he can. As long as "Party lines" remain the rule, there will not be enough votes to stop him. Not to mention, Bush has his supporters that have bought into the government line and much like Bush are too stubborn to admit they MAY have made an error. 2008 can't come too soon...

Obviously he doesn't care about anyone buying it. He doesn't have much longer in office. Most of them pull what they want when they can't be re-elected. What happened to getting Osama?

What do you mean, "when is [he] going to realize [it]?" He realizes it. He's just not interested in who is buying his war.
