I have lived outside of Canada for many years teaching English and am not interested in continuing in that field of work. I would like to start taking classes and retrain for another line of work such as urban planning.

Would I be able to find work with only English and minimal French? I don't expect a high powered job in an office but I just need a job to keep body and soul together. I can scrub a toilet!

There are lots of jobs you could do here with no french. Heck, my brother works for a bank and he doesn't know french.
A couple of great sites to help you with your job searches are http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/

Why don't you teach English in Montreal while you study urban planning? Probably slightly better pay than cleaning toilets...

Just stick to the West side of Montreal and you should be okay, lol!

Good luck to you buddy!

P.S. I will not be held accountable if you ever cross over to the East side of town, lol!
