I've done many brake jobs, but today I was helping a friend with his Toyota Tundra and it has 4 piston calipers and I've never encountered such a thing. also, let me know if you need a special tool.

I read the chiltons book, and on a Toyota Tundra you leave the caliper on the rotor, and one side at a time, use a pair of channel locks to compress the pistons with the old pad. then you install the new pad and repeat with the other side. Thats for anyone who reads this again.

They do make a tool to compress the pistons. However you can do the same thing with a block of wood and a couple of screwdrivers. Stick the wood in the caliper and use the screw drivers to push back the 2 pistons at the same time. Also, before you do this open the zerk fitting for the brake bleed, so you don't push the old fluid back into the system. good luck.

there are special tools for the job,but you can get away with using the old brake pads and a g clamp. remember to clamp both sides so you don't pop a piston out and cover your master cylinder with a rag so fluid does not go over your paint.

Try this! Use the old shoes and compress them with a C-clamp. The caliper should stay compressed.

Brake fluid gets skinny because it an prolonged time, turns poisonous and acidic, and starts off to consume on the aluminum in brake aspects. the respond is to alter the fluid!!! this could shop your modern-day calipers, maximum possibly and restoration factroy operation to gadget. examine your instruction manual, ALL brake fluid require changing each and every 2-3 years to stay away from brake subject and safeguard the integrity of your braking gadget!!! Use in straightforward terms actual TOYOTA brake fluid, as each and each brake fluid definitely has diverse ester compounds, and don't somewhat mixture collectively properly!! you do no longer somewhat have worn seals, yet worn FLUID!!!! The seals will in lots of cases heal themselves whent he new fluid washes away the broken down previoud fluid. solid success!!
