How to get past writer's block?

I love to write fantasy and I'm stuck right now in the novel I'm writing. Any ideas/tips? thx

Hmmm....when I have writer's block, I listen to some good music. It puts me in a thoughtful mood. It also helps to do a gianormous character analysis of all (or the ones you want) the characters. Favorite color, etc. Stuff that you wouldn't put in the book to begin with.

Dont think about it. I just got over writers block and didn't think about it. I don't know if you have a time limit or not, but when you don't think about it for a couple of days it comes right to you. Another thing is look around you. I know that you said that it is fantasy, but there are things that happen around people everyday that can trigger a thought.

Do like I do: Go back to the point where you were on a roll, and see what was the direct cause of writer's block.

Take out what ailed you and start over anew.

Or--if you can't get past it still--take a few days to unwind and let your mind wander to something else unrelated to writiing.

daydream!!!! watch good movies for inspiration, listen to the lyrics of songs, old and new, talk to your elders and weave new life into their stories, just talk to people and it will bring new avenues and ideas for you to explore and will also bring back memories of your own that you can embellish and change and morph into something new.
