I know of those (the first answer) but I am talking about the same kind of view as in those. I mean something you can really compare to as in are you just walking around the boulder or are you actually the one who moves it completley out of your way.

Not a long story, just a short tale.

I like the answer of Hercules but it is not what I am looking for either! sorry! it can't really have anything to do with other God's that the Christian religion would call "false" God's.

Sleeping Beauty isnt exactly the example I was looking for either. If I were to explain it to something biblical I would have used the story of Joseph and the Coat of Many Colors because he had to go through the overcoming being enslaved by his brothers etc. and knowing that God was going to deliver him through all that and he had the choice to keep his trust in God or to live with unforgiving spirit towards his brothers and probably even God as well, not going into detail.

And actually the bible states that the only ones who overcame the flood were the ones on the ark. and that was just noah and his family, which God told him to build the boat. and that going into more detail with that I would more consider that a crisis of faith for noah than overcoming obstacles for anyone else.

Can obstacles awaken the inherent abilities of a person to make him great?

Here is the experience given by one
person:

"Several years ago I suffered from an attack of tennis elbow so intense that I couldn't even hold a pencil (forget trying to use it). As an artist and writer, this could have caused me a lot of mental anguish since I could not do the two things which are most important to me. Instead, I tried composing into a tape recorder instead of doing it longhand (which is still, BTW, my preferred method). And I tried drawing left-handed. I was very satisfied with both alternatives".

all stories are about overcoming obstacles: cinderella, snow white, etc. Think a bit. An obstacel is not a boulder in the road: it's poverty, enmity, jealousy, actions of others. read some dickens or shakespeare or RL Stevenson.

Have you watched "HOMELESS TO HARVARD"? if the story of that girl doesn't inspire us I don't know what will. She is living proof that if you really want to get over every obstacle in your life you just need to work hard to overcome them all....at the end of the road you will see the reward for your hard work....

In Sleeping Beauty the prince gets through the thorns.

Something Biblical is The Flood; God made the Flood because humanity had become too evil.
