Okay, well I accidentally caused a small fire in my microwave. The smell is not the problem, I know how to fix that. It's just that the once white microwave is now solid black. Once I tried to clean it, now it's just kind of grey and still black in some areas. Is there anyway to restore the white in the microwave?

I wouldn't risk using this one. Just buy a new and play it safe....=)

First put about two cups water in microwave safe bowl.
Heat it until boiling and be careful.
Then take lemon juice and salt. Use the lemon juice and salt with soft cotten rag (or old sock) - that is your scrubber.
If the burnt stuff doesn't come off after the water teaser - the lemon juice and salt will make a big dent. Keep doing this.
You can keep some instant coffee or coffee beans in your microwave when you are not using it to help. But I like lemon better. Don't give up. If it is burnt on meat grease...you can try a little meat tenderizer with the salt - Salt is natural scrubber for any cleaning.

If its burnt grease, the fats and oils may have stained the plastic and you can only fade the colour of the stain.
I did it to mine (microwave popcorn) and the interior wasn't black but the butter stained the walls a yellow colour from about halfway down. I was lucky i got it out quick and the smoke wiped off. I still use it and it goes good.

Put a cup of lemon juice inside and cook it for a few minutes and then let it sit for a couple of hours and then the gunk should wipe off.
